Staff Appreciation 2020 will be the week of Monday May 4th – May 8th

Hello Parents/Guardians-       flower

We hope you all are starting to get more comfortable with distance learning and the daily routine of staying home. We understand these times can be frustrating and emotionally exhausting not just for us (parents/guardians) but our staff as well. This year Lava Ridge PTO has planned a virtual Staff Appreciation week for our AMAZING Staff. Staff Appreciation week is Monday, May 4th thru Friday, May 8th.

Staff Appreciation Slideshow

  • We will be creating a slideshow to wrap up Staff Appreciation Week and would love your help making it special. Please send us a picture of your student(s) with a sign telling the staff what they appreciate most about them (this includes the admin team, janitorial staff, specialists, nutrition services, teachers, etc). Photos can be submitted through Google drive, head here to access the google drive link. All submissions are due by Sunday, May 3rdby midnight. We will share the final product on social media as well as email it to the staff.

Ideas for making the picture extra special: Include family and pets, wear Lava Ridge Gear, be creative with your sign or your message, and of course- smile BIG! 😊

Monday, May 4: Teachers Make Us Bloom

  • Send our Teacher a Virtual flower: Fresh, Fake or Hand Made/Drawn take a picture of the flower and email/share/post the picture to your teacher virtually.

‌Wednesday, May 6: Teachers Brighten Our Rainbow

  • Wear your teacher’s favorite color. To find out your teacher’s favorite color, either reach out to your room parent or visit our staff appreciation list on the website at Take a picture and send a little message via email/social media of one thing you miss about your teacher. Or if you have a virtual meeting with your class on this day plan to wear their favorite color to the meeting.

‌Friday, May 8: Lava Ridge Staff is Noteworthy

  • Each student is encouraged to write a little note of appreciation to their teacher and/or other staff members at school.

Can you send staff members a special gift?

  • While traditionally we like to shower our staff with gifts of their favorite treats, places to eat or school supplies, this is a bit harder with school closed. However, if you are able to and feel like sending staff member a little something extra, please consider mailing a gift card to the school.
