I’m excited to notify you about the upcoming Run TrackTown Youth League All-Comers Track Meet in Bend, a free meet on June 27 for boys and girls in third through eighth grade! The Bend regional meet will be held on June 27 at 5:00 p.m. at Bend High School.
We are hoping that you can help us spread the word to students and parents in your community. Please reply if you are able to do so and please let us know if there is a track and field contact at your school who we can reach out to as well.
Below is a copy of our digital postcard, which can be sent to students, parents, teachers and other members of the community, and shared on websites and social media. We have hard copies as well, and I would be happy to mail them to you if they can be distributed to students or if there is a bulletin board to hang the poster. Additional details on the Run TrackTown Youth League are provided below.
Run TrackTown Youth League
Created by TrackTown USA and the Oregon Sports Authority, the inaugural season of the Run TrackTown Youth League is a series of free all-comer track meets to be held this summer around the state of Oregon. The top three finishers in each event will advance to the championship meet, which will be held during the IAAF World Junior Championships at Hayward Field on July 26th. Events will be held for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 (2013-14 school year). Events to be contested are the 100m, 400m, 1,500m, long lump and turbojav.
Our goal is to have as many participants as possible and to get kids active and engaged in track and field. No prior track experience is needed to participate in the series – athletes of all abilities are welcome!
