PTO Board Members Wanted

We are already beginning to look ahead to next year, can you believe it? The Lava Ridge PTO will be needing a whole new set of board members. If you are interested in being the next PTO President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary let us know! You can send an email to with what your are interested in or with any questions you might have about the responsibilities.

We plan to vote on the new board members at the next PTO meeting in May. Another great reason to attend the PTO meeting. We always need more people to be involved!

PTO Meeting This Thursday

This Thursday is the Quarterly Lava Ridge PTO meeting. We hope you can make it!

The meeting will begin in the school library at 4pm. Childcare and snacks are provided.

It’s Read-A-Thon Time

The theme this year is “Don’t Bug Me, I’m Reading” and there is a buzz in the air as we get ready for the biggest fundraising event of the year!

Your child(ren) should have brought home their official reading log by now. The envelope has all of the information you might need, but if you find yourself worrying that you missed the deadline (as I often find myself doing) we have provided some information for you below.

What you need to know:

Reading begins March 18th and ends on April 1st. Every day your child will need to track their minutes and write it down on the official log and a parent will initial.

Select a goal and get pledges! The envelope is your pledge sheet. 100% of donated money goes back to the school through the Lava Ridge PTO!

Donations can be turned in anytime between April 1st – 10th. Make sure to turn yours in so you don’t miss out on the fantastic prizes.

And a special thanks:

We are so lucky to have some amazing sponsors. Thank you to Hoodoo, Umbrella Properties, and Cascade Indoor Sports for your generous support of Lave Ridge PTO!

A Message from your PTO President

I am sending this post to you to inform you that my family and I will
be moving out of town during spring break. I have resigned from the PTO
President position. I am leaving you in great hands. This PTO board
is an amazing group of ladies. Lava Ridge Elementary is a wonderful
school and we will miss everyone greatly.
